Membership Changes in Churches in USA

America is a country with a very developed religious marketplace, so to speak. People have many choices when it comes to where they worship, and according to a new report by the National Council of Churches in the USA, the biggest losers here are the mainstream Protestant churches, including Presbyterians, Methodists, and Lutherans. All these are showing a dip in membership, and they are responding with ad campaigns to try to win back members.
On the other hand, Pentecostal churches are seeing a surge in membership. Some of the members of this church attribute it's rise in popularity to the fact that Pentecostalism is a "full body faith", as members are encouraged to speak in tongues at services, for example. Sarah Palin is a famous former member of a Pentecostal church. The Jehovah's Witnesses, who are known for their door-to-door preaching, and the Mormon Church both saw increases in membership as well.
